The Finishing Touch Your Floors Deserve
Baseboards and trim are the details that separate a professional flooring installation from an unfinished one. At Perez Flooring Contractors, we include baseboard and trim work as a standard part of every flooring project across Woodland, Sacramento, and Northern California — because we believe no floor is complete until the trim is perfect.
Whether you're installing new hardwood, vinyl, laminate, or carpet, proper trim installation covers expansion gaps, protects walls, and creates the clean, polished look that ties your entire room together.
We install MDF and solid wood baseboards in all standard and custom profiles, quarter round, shoe molding, door casing, and crown molding. For historic Woodland homes, we source or custom-mill profiles that match your home's original architectural details.

From classic profiles to custom millwork — we match your trim to your home's architectural character.
Trim Types
Types of Trim We Install
MDF Baseboard
Smooth, paintable MDF baseboards in a variety of profiles. Cost-effective, consistent, and resistant to warping — the most popular choice for modern homes.
Solid Wood Baseboard
Real wood baseboards in oak, pine, poplar, and other species. Can be stained to match hardwood floors or painted for a clean, classic look.
Quarter Round
Small, rounded trim installed where the floor meets the baseboard. Covers expansion gaps and creates a finished look, especially with floating floors.
Shoe Molding
Flat-backed trim similar to quarter round but with a sleeker profile. Provides a more modern, streamlined transition between floor and baseboard.
Crown Molding
Decorative trim installed where walls meet the ceiling. Adds architectural elegance and visual height to any room — especially dramatic in rooms with new floors.
Custom Profiles
Custom-milled trim profiles to match historic homes, unique architectural styles, or specific design preferences. We source or mill custom profiles for any project.
How It Works
Our Trim Installation Process
Measurement & Consultation
We measure all rooms, note inside and outside corners, doorframes, and transitions. We help you select the right profile, material, and height for your home's style.
Old Trim Removal
Existing baseboards and trim carefully removed to avoid wall damage. We patch nail holes and prep walls for a clean installation.
Precision Cutting
Every piece is measured and cut on-site for perfect fits at corners, transitions, and doorframes. We use compound miters for seamless inside and outside corners.
Installation & Fastening
Trim is secured with finish nails and construction adhesive for a rock-solid hold. We ensure level, gap-free installation along every wall.
Caulking, Filling & Cleanup
We fill nail holes, caulk gaps between trim and walls, and leave your home ready for paint. If you'd like, we can also paint the new trim.

Precision Craftsmanship
Crisp Lines, Perfect Corners
Our trim installers cut precise miter joints, cope inside corners, and fill nail holes for a seamless, paintable finish. Every joint is tight, every line is straight, and every transition is clean.
The details matter — and proper trim work is what makes a flooring project feel truly finished.
Benefits
Why Quality Trim Matters
Polished, Finished Look
Baseboards and trim are the finishing touch that makes new floors look complete. Without proper trim, even the best flooring installation looks unfinished.
Cover Expansion Gaps
Floating floors require expansion gaps at walls. Baseboards and quarter round cover these gaps cleanly, creating a seamless transition from floor to wall.
Protect Walls
Baseboards protect the bottom of your walls from vacuum bumps, furniture scuffs, and mopping splashes. They're both decorative and functional.
Increase Home Value
Quality trim work is one of the details that distinguishes a professional renovation from a DIY job. It adds perceived value and visual polish to every room.
Complete Your Project
We install trim as part of your flooring project — same team, same timeline, one invoice. No need to hire a separate trim carpenter.
